When sudden events happen, by pure instinct we freeze and then run. This sudden could be transient events that fade away quickly or some events that last long and are out of plan or never expected.
When we are confronting some divergence in life that we are not readily prepared for, we tend to freeze and run. It is safe to do so but may not be the best strategy. At these moments, we are trapped by fear, doubt or feeling unconfident or hesitation. We may not be able to find out our way out clear to move on, but we also don’t have to wander around until we figure it out.
It won’t be worse if we quickly pick one direction to pursue or continue the old track since we can also find our way out while we are doing something meaning other than doing nothing.
Eventually, as you’re working continuously things become clear slowly and peace comes to you again. Feeling lost of direction is a must-have component in growing up. Take it easy and keep working.
