Sleep tight

Tonight I am going to sleep tight before 2200 no matter what. Put aside everything to continue tomorrow. Many things seem to stop me from sleeping this early, small or big. These turn out to be nonsense.

world values diligence

Making you a name, is a slow process from years to decades. You need long-term, consistent hard work to build your records and the world needs years to scrutinize to be convinced by your records. Eventually, your diligence will pay off. Even in the worst scenario that your effort is not appreciated by others at all, the time and experience you gained in the process is the most important reword to expect. Really you don’t need to worry about this scenario.

Diligence is the only short-cut, if it exists, to make your accomplishments. It sounds counter-intuitive, but Rome was not built in one day and it was made brick by brick.

Personal diligence is always appreciated by the world in a certain form. It is even appreciated by the people not in your own field, by the people who do not even know you. Why? Because people know clearly although subconsciously, that a better world can rely only on diligent people. Carry a vision, which does not need to be definitively clear, and work hard. You will not fail you and the world knows it.

Involve in great history

I want to actively get involved in writing part of the history, although my part might be short. If possible, I want to write a chapter.

We are blessed living in an era and a country where there is no bloody war. However in such a comfortable situation, I have no sense of my role in the history. Maybe I got born, grew up, worked, married, got old and die. But the whole life has no conscious about being part of the history and the fact that I can make a difference in history.

I love my homeland and I love my people. I don’t want to a person who only enjoys this blessed situation created by our ancestors and others, I also want to contribute my part to make this situation even better. I have to be there to get involved in writing this part of the history, a piece of great history.

breaking limits

Getting old does not require personal effort and it does not even guarantee some meaningful experiences, which is sad. Getting old is not equal to growth.

For me, it is quite scary that getting old does not give me growth. Time flies so fast while enjoying the comfort zone. It feels like I cannot touch or sense the flow of time. But when I work hard to challenge my limit and break the walls, I can feel clearly the flow of time in the sense of pain, struggle, blood and sweat.

In this way, I know when time flows through my body, my hard-work have converted some of it into valuable characteristics in myself and I grow a little bit. And I know, little by little these characteristics will aggregate and become bright stars.

Live like a worm

It feels so blessed to live like a worm with maybe only one single thing in mind at a certain time point without worrying about multiple things simultaneously.

Cleaning up your mind can relieve you and give you more energy on what is left that truly matters to you. Minimizing your to do list and trying to put everything into a daily routine can save your energy on thinking. Cleaning up your living, working and driving space is also a good start to tidy up your physical world, your daily chores and your mind. Eventually, your energy is saved and you feel relieved and more powerful.

sooner the better

Time flies fast.

When you have a goal or a plan, that’s good. But do not hesitate on taking actions or making choices. Don’t be afraid of making decisions or making mistakes. Making mistakes is even better than doing nothing. Don’t say no before you have tried all the possibilities.

As you have made up your mind for your goal, take actions immediately. Things will not work out as smooth as we imagined so we have to leave enough space and time for making mistakes and for debugging. You are lucky if the external conditions allow you to work towards your dream since the external conditions or policies may change. So make your progresses before you lost the external luxury, the sooner the better.

The art of discard

There are two aspects in discard, discard good things and discard bad things.

The reason that you have to discard good things in your life although counterintuitive is that with your limited time and capability, you can not keep all the good things in your life. As I mentioned earlier, you have to focus on something you value the most and make full use of that. Keep other good things can only distract you and you are wasting the other good things. Of course you can improve your ability to appreciate more good things, nevertheless, it critical to keep in mind that your time is limited.

The reason the discard bad things is obvious, and every one knows. But we need to discard the bad thing aggressively the second we notice that it is bad. Bad product, bad fruits, bad habit, bad relationship, bad attitude and so on so forth. I noticed my procrastination on discarding bad things today, as if there might be something good in it and subconsciously hope someday I can correct the bad thing and make good use of the potentially good portion in it, which I noticed today I never did. That’s just funny.

One small goal

One small goal for the coming month is to keep a none-carb diet to reduce body fat. I hope in this way, I can push my body fat below 12% before July 20.

Daily routine:

Meal 1: 2 eggs + salad + 50g sausage.

Meal 2: 1 peach (remove if not cutting fat in the first week)

Meal 3: 2 ribs+ broccoli

Meal 4: 1/2 Korean melon (remove if not cutting fat in the first week)

Meal 5: 2 ribs+ broccoli

Meal 6: 1 scoop whey.

In addition, have a good sleep.

Plans

Making a plan, even a rough one, can help you get things done more efficiently. I’ve noticed a few mechanisms about making plans that sound reasonable for me.

  1. Making a plan about how to spend a day for instance can give you a rough schedule to finish things one after another without spending the time to pause after one thing is done and the time to think about what to do next. You just need to follow your designed schedule. In this way you not only save time, but also avoid the upset moment when missing something by the end of the day.
  2. Making a plan about how to spend a day can preset your expectation of your coming day before you start it. When you have a goal of a day, subconsciously you are more concentrated and more motivated. You start to focus on doing the tasks and get immune to the irrelevant distractions. Along the day, you feel the pace of making progress, which  gives you the sense of accomplishment. By the end of the day, you are happy to go to bed since you have followed your plan and fully utilized your time. On the contrary without a plan, it is so easy for one to be distracted and  to wonder around without actually achieving anything in a day and you will not feel the sense of accomplishment by the end of the day and simply waste a day.

Materialism vs idealism

I buy the understanding that the matter is the reasonable reality of the universe and our life. In other worlds, we live in a materialized world, which is not manipulable through pure thoughts without actual deeds. Our bodies are also physically existing. Somebody may say that your physical body is just a carrier of the spiritual you. Alright, then so what? The two, body and spirit still have to coexist. It is the point that I want to argue about.

I am not saying emotions, feelings, thoughts and spiritual practices are pointless and powerless. After all, beyond our physical existence in the physical world, our feelings are the major ruler to measure and define the point of our own lives. And feelings do not come out of nowhere, they always have some relations with what’s happening in the physical world or to the physical you, although sometimes the relations are not clearly comprehensible.

I don’t go with pure materialism or idealism since I am not a robot and I have my own spiritual world that guide me through the daily physical practices so as to improve the world round me, in a small or large scale, and to experience a fruitful life from both materialized or idealized perspectives.
