Opportunities

Opportunities are for those who prepared themselves.

Opportunities are for those who fight for them.

Opportunities are for those who initiated to creat them.

When opportunities come, you have to be the one who is ready to take them since opportunities won’t wait. Everything is dynamic, so you can create your own opportunity, or you can miss it.

Networks

HCBM

Health, Career, Beloved and Money, four majors in the realistic world. Surprisingly, friends and networks are not mentioned as majors.

Majors should be predictable, where more of your effort gives you more outcome. These four majors help you build up solid foundation of life, based on which you can chase after more ambitions.

It does’t mean networks are not important in life. However, networks should not be the goals in life to pursue. Great networks are only the side products when you are good in the four majors. Doing poorly in the four majors, for almost all of the time good friends and networks are unpredictable and ephemeral.

Four Major Subjects

In school, we always have a focus by reminding ourselves: Math, Chinese, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography and Politics.

Grown up in society, we get lost.

But we should also have a focus by reminding ourselves: Health, Career, beloved and Money.

perfectionism and minimalism

I admit there are many angles to interpret one word. Thus, when people are talking about the same word or concept, it is so common that they are actually meaning different things.

Perfectionism

Perfectionism has a slightly different emphasis on everyday principles to focus on doing things to the best as possible without considering the limitations if time and other resources or putting things back into order. While negentropist admit the fact that perfection is not achievable and fully acknowledge the limited time and resources in the physical world. Some people may think disorder is not in a conflict with perfection, but negentropist only follow the direction that can best reduce entropy.

Minimalism

This minimalism delivers quite similar information with my negentropist believe in the galaxy theory. The ultimate goal is to live a refined life, but minimalism and negentropist are suggesting different daily guiding principles to handle daily choices.

Time Frame

We always want to make perfect product or do a perfect job. However, we can never never really reach perfection since the time we have for the task is so much limited. All we can do is to set a time frame and do our best within it. Thus we have to set a time frame.

Additionally, it is also very helpful to set a time frame for any task that we want to do because the sense of a preset time frame will give you a reliable reference to assign your time and to better focus on your task. Since you have set a time frame, it give you a sense of priority of the task and this sense of priority can protect you from being distracted so that you can avoid wondering around without remembering your goal and eventually squandering your time.

How to Evaluate Yourself

I have been looking for a set of guidelines to evaluate myself. Actually, one equivalent question is how to reach self-satisfaction. Another is am I now doing right and doing my best?

It is not quite difficult to reach a stage when you work for a certain period of time let’s say twenty hours per week to earn enough money to survive and live a decent life. Is that enough? A few questions come across my mind at this certain point, for which I don’t have ready answers yet:

How to utilize the rest of your week? It is a luxury to have spare time after work. So how to use it? Should I spend the rest of time to try other ways for more money? Or I should invest the spare time to learn something new for a better myself?

Is that twenty hours work for living expense the best way to use your time? It is quite normal that the minimum work for living expense is boring and not nutritious. And what we are looking for is the work that not only giving money to us but also making us grow.

I hope to keeping learning to the best of myself to grant three effects of my time: making a difference so that I enjoy, making money, making myself better.

Mobile Universe

We all miss home/hometown. We all miss several places where we saved our memories. Those are the places we feel safe and comfortable, thus, we say “this is my place.”

Familiarity lies behind this comfort sense of home/hometown, since we have established some stable personal networks there and we have built up several life routines there which were confirmed safe or successful while living there. Eventually, these external setups are converted into internal feelings such as safe and comfortable.

However, we all have to move in life, more or less. Thus we have to re-establish the sense of secure and comfort with another period of struggle. But, we have a more powerful place to seek the sense of secure and comfort, our internal world.

As we switch our attention from the external configurations to our internal world, we are going to build up are strong and powerful internal galaxy, with our routines, hobbies, skills, principles and so on. That is a mobile universe that goes with us wherever we move and make us feel secure.

Doing Minus

We all feel good when we possess more things. We always say the more the better. Surprisingly counter-intuitive, doing minus in our daily life also gives us the sense of satisfaction.

It is not randomly throwing away what you have. The first layer of doing minus is happening in your mind, a brain-storm of sorting up your life to see what worth to stay and what will not be touch for long time. Only keep those worthy to stay and discard those seldom come across your mind.

It takes a lot to carry those nonsense and once you discard them from your life, it is like you cleaned up your hard drive and get more space for valuable things in the future. In this way, you feel relieved.

Being disliked

The effort of pleasing everyone will lead you nowhere since it is impossible to make everyone around you happy with your limited time, energy and resource.

Eventually you need to choose whom to focus on and do some saving and dumping. Otherwise, if you evenly distribute your kindness, those who really appreciate you are not given enough of your attention because you grant your love and passion onto someone who don’t really care.

Thus being disliked is just as normal as being liked. It is not bad at all of being disliked since it represents that you have your own characteristics, mind, attitudes and insists. Being disliked and being liked are just yin and yang, the two blades of a sword and the bright and shadow of one existence, you.
